ActivitiesWhen you have enough of just lazing in our year-round sunshine, or just hanging out in a hammock, there are many ways to keep yourself occupied:
Here are just a few of them:
Swim-in the 20-metre pool, or in the warm water of the bay (from the beach or the dock)
Hike one of our many jungle trails and watch the birds and howler monkeys
Kayak - for example around Gipsy Island in the middle of the bay
Fish - from shore or from rented boat. The Gulf abounds in sea life, including whales, dolphins, turtles, flying fish and many others.
Dive - scuba or snorkel. (On the other side of the island you can find oysters in 2-metre deep water)
Ski - rent a boat and go water-skiing on the calm waters of the bay
Tour the gulf in a rented motor-boat - and include a visit to Tortuga Island, among the best known tourist destinations in Costa Rica
Visit some of the other beaches nearby, like Playa Blanca (4 km north) - or Playa Tambor (an hour's drive).
Visit the waterfalls in Gigante-river, a short drive and walk away.
